May 2021

May is the Month the Church Dedicates to the Most Blessed Virgin Mary

“The queen stood on Thy right hand in gilded clothing, surrounded with variety.”
(Ps, xliv. 10)

“and the King arose to meet her, and bowed to her, and sat down upon His throne: and a throne was set for the King’s mother, and she sat on His right hand. And she said to Him: I desire one small petition of Thee, do not put me to confusion. And the King said to her: My mother, ask: for I must not turn away thy face.”
(III Kings, ii. 19-20)

“And the King shall greatly desire thy beauty: for He is the Lord thy God, and Him they shall adore.”
(Ps, xliv. 12)

Anthem – Regina Cœli
(To be prayed from Easter Sunday to Trinity Sunday instead of the Angelus. Click here, for the Latin version)

Queen of Heaven, rejoice. Alleluia.

For He whom thou wast made worthy to bear. Alleluia.

Hath risen, as He said. Alleluia.

Pray for us to God. Alleluia.

℣. Rejoice and be glad, O Virgin Mary. Alleluia.

℟. For the Lord hath risen indeed. Alleluia.

Let us pray.

O God, who through the resurrection of thy Son our Lord Jesus Christ hast vouchsafed to give joy to the whole world; grant us, we beseech Thee, that, through the intercession of the Virgin Mary his Mother, we may obtain the joys of eternal life. Through the same Christ our Lord. Amen.
